What it is

A deeply soothing, topical salve crafted from comfrey leaf we grew in our gardens, slow-infused in single-source extra-virgin olive oil (over a year—long and low for maximum goodness), then set with a whisper of local beeswax from our hives. Comfrey’s treasured plant compounds (like allantoin, saponins, and polysaccharides) make this a go-to for occasional bumps and overworked tissues.

Why you’ll love it

  • Targeted support for tender, hard-worked areas—great for the “whoops” and “oops” of farm life.
  • Velvety glide, non-greasy finish that sinks in smoothly.
  • Heritage method: slow infusion for at least 6 weeks—this batch went much longer.
  • Straight from our Missouri farm—grown, gathered, and hand-poured by us.

How to use

  • Spot apply a thin layer to clean, closed skin over areas of occasional strain, sprain, or bruise.
  • Massage in 1–3× daily as needed for up to a week, then take a break and reassess.
  • Do not use on open wounds (comfrey may close the surface too quickly).
  • External use only. Patch test before first use.

Good to know (please read)

Comfrey is a powerful medicinal herb. All comfrey varieties contain pyrrolizidine alkaloids; internal use, high doses, or long-term use can be harmful to the liver. This salve is for external, short-term, targeted use only. Avoid if pregnant/nursing, if you have liver concerns, or for infants/young children unless advised by your qualified provider. Discontinue if irritation occurs.
